Beginning March 8th through April 12, Terrence Rogers Fine Art is pleased to present the work of Patricia Chidlaw.

Patricia Chidlaw continues her exploration road-side America, in this show focusing on the Mojave and western Nevada. In her paintings of vintage motels, gas stations and movie theaters, she delivers consistently remarkable impressions of unremarkable places. Her nocturnes delight the viewer with dramatic shadow, lurid neon lighting, and a hint of the noir, offering tantalizing clues to an untold story.

With an eye for faded architectural fashion, Chidlaw creates striking portraits of places which were once lively and familiar, but now seem desolate and strange. In sum, she proves to be a talented chronicler of contemporary American life in the tradition of Edward Hopper.

Patricia Chidlaw lives and works in Santa Barbara, where she has exhibited regularly for 20 years. This will be her fourth solo show in Los Angeles.
